## Double Resonances within Three Lunar Years

Readers of my article Lunar Counting from Crucuno Dolmen to its Rectangle will be familiar with the finding that in 32 lunar months there are almost exactly 945 days, leading to the incredibly accurate approximation (one part in 45000!) for the lunar month of 945/32 = 29.53125 days. In the previous article on Seascale I noticed that 36 lunar months (three solar years) divided by 32 lunar months is the Pythagorean tone of 9/8. This leads to some important thoughts regarding the tuning matrix of the Moon within the periods of the three outer planets, since the synod of Jupiter divided by the lunar year of 12 lunar months is the tone 9/8, the same tone that on "holy mountains" of Ernest G. McClain's ancient tuning theory, are only found between two tonal numbers separated horizontally by two perfect fifths of 3/2, since 3/2 x 3/2 = 2.25 which, normalised to the octave of 1 to 2, is 1.125 or 9/8.

If the matrix unit is one tenth of the lunar month, then three lunar years become 360 units which, taken to be do^{2} = D'' = the harmonic limiting number, which presents the matrix in figure 1.

*Figure 1 The Harmonic Matrix for 360 = 36 months, showing that the 32 lunar month period of 945 days starts the second row as harmonic number 320. Screen grabbed from my online app Harmonic Explorer for Ernest McClain's tuning mountains*

This matrix, being two dimensional, has to be read in one dimensional ways:

- The number 320 in the matrix is the 32 lunar month period whilst in between lies two lunar years as G=240.
- To the right of D = 360 lies 270 which is two Jupiter synods taking 27 lunar months.
- Saturn is the bottom left "cornerstone" of a-flat = 256: again lasting for two of it's synods of 12.8 lunar months.
- On top of the matrix is a periodicity of 25 lunar months during which exactly two synods of Uranus equal to 12.5 lunar months, complete.

page 1: Agni, savior and god of fire, is himself "the holy Singer who precedes the sages . . . waxen mighty by laudations" and the secret he alone can impart is a certain "lofty Hymn". (3.5.1-2 and 4.5.3)

page 6: [regarding tenfoldness] ... and ten is the number of piles of wood for the fire in which Agni is born as well as the number of his secret "dwelling places."

page 37: [regarding tone mandalas] But it is equally legitimate to consider D = 360 = 720 at the top of the circle as "1" also, in the sense of the geometric mean whose "appearance" has been changed to avoid fractions. Now a-flat lies somewhat askew from the symmetrical [Asvin] twins we have been studying; it is near the locus of the square root of 2 which would have put the equal tempered A-flat = G-sharp precisely at the bottom of the circle, directly opposite D. It is in this region of the of the circle, I believe, that Indra will be born later as Indra-Agni, god of fire, not as a "point" in the circle but as a segment of the circle. The Rg Veda describes this birth as that of a kind of "breach baby": "Forth from the side obliquely will I issue" (R.V. 4.18.12). There is no integer at the locus in question. The great expansion of the number sets in later diagrams is motivated, I believe, by the effort to approximate as exactly as possible the irrational square root of 2 which is needed to locate a tone symmetrically opposite the mean on D, that is, precisely in the middle of our octave.

*My recently released book,** Harmonic Origins of the World* (HoW) spliced,

- the ancient tuning theory implied by a wide ranging use of harmonic numbers in the ancient world (post 3000 BC) onto
- the advanced solar and lunar horizon astronomy of the megalithic in Brittany, Britain, and Ireland.

using my early finding (*Matrix of Creation*, 2002), that the lunar year has harmonic ratios to the visible outer planets.

In other words, the megalithic were led to find the whole tone and semitone ratios to Jupiter and Saturn through their work of counting the synodic period between the loops of these two planets, these results being responsible for that information (and their wider astronomical tradition) leaking into the foundations of what we call history. Later traditions, such as *The Harmony of the Spheres,* would allude to this prospectus: that the Earth had a musical planetary environment.

This article explores a megalithic complex called Clava Cairns, near Inverness, Scotland, and finds first evidence that the megalithic counted the synodic periods of Jupiter and Saturn and used this knowledge to inform the dimensions and design of these cairns. This might give clues as to how sun, moon, and outer planets were informing the design of monuments of those and later sacred spaces. A previous article on the alignments found at Clava cairns is in the British Megaliths section of this site

### Some Metrology at Clava Cairns

Alignments to the solstice sun are at least symbolic of the solar year in between of 365 days. At Le Manio Quadrilateral one finds a count over three solar years of 1095 day-inches along the mid-summer solstice sunrise alignment and so counting was tied to the solstice sun in 4000 BC, in Brittany, and the strongest solstice alignment at these cairns is that of the passageways of the NE and SW cairns towards midwinter sunset. I will therefore look at the distance between these two cairns whilst also looking at other features and geometries associated with accurate time counting in days.

## Marduk's 13 Winds defeat Tiamat

Marduk is a character like Indra who was associated with a very large number and antediluvian floods, though Noah seems adapted not to mention 8,640,000,000. The reality of these floods is based upon an idea revealed in this number. The head number 864 is the earliest which can form the seven note heptatonic octave whose intervals are far from perfect. Winds can be viewed as blowing into the octave's tone circle, and the heptatonic has seven but having defined seven tones (including the tonic here to be called D) the gaps remaining between B and C and between E and F, that we call semitones, are unplanned so as to be numerically and acoustically imperfect as equal the ratio 256/243, This imperfection was called by Pythagoreans the leftovers (*leimmas*), and they highlight the fact that when a cycle of fifths and fourths emanate from D (clockwise and anticlockwise within in the octave's tone circle), powers of three can only be eliminated to achieve the exact 2 required of octave doubling, by a semitone fraction involving three to the power of five = 243 (figure 1).

## Feeding the 5000 as Harmonic Allegory

What has come down as Jesus' teaching were largely oral "sayings", some then integrated into later hagiographies called gospels. The fundamental gospel was that ascribed to Mark, since Luke and Matthew both drew stories from it and from sayings in a Q document. Mark was soon edited and this in a detectably different mood, more critical to disciples and including additional miracles, perhaps to match those of Elija and Elisha. Translators and church doctrines later affected what appears in the canonical versions we now use.

This article discusses the feeding of a large crowd of five thousand men in the original Mark and, in the following inserted section of the editor, the feeding of four thousand. These "feedings" follow the same motif: Late in the day, people need feeding and the small amount of food found available, five loaves and two fishes or seven loaves, is distributed by Jesus and the "fragments" left are gathered into twelve or seven baskets, leaving more after all the eating than could possibly have existed to start with.

John Dart notes in *Decoding Mark*, with others, how weak the second feeding story is since it appears to merely repeat the previous miracle, in a lesser fashion. However, a day or two after the second feeding miracle, of the 4000, the disciples are worried when they have forgotten to bring any bread for their journey by boat. Jesus says they should "beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod … Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?:

8:19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.

8:20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

On the surface, Jesus is saying the disciples should know by now that food can come from being with Jesus, but on another level is this incident an example of his teachings use harmonic allusion, a technique found quite widely within both Biblical writings and those of the near east, in which numbers could refer to the harmonic world.

We don’t know exactly how many people there were, only that "they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men." The numbers 4000 and 5000 seem related and centuries earlier, Plato had used vague references to exact numbers in Dialogues written in Greek - a lingua franca in Alexandria and the middle east. If Jesus was the esoteric master he appears to have been, then the harmonic allusion of the ancient near east and eastern Mediterranean would have been an "open book" to him.

One can start by looking at 4000, which has three factors of 5 (32 x 125) and 5000 which has four (8 x 625). Harmonic numbers are best studied using mountians formed of the products of prime number two, three and five - a technique pioneered by Ernest McClain to identify harmonic allusion in ancient texts.
